Patients need to appreciate that health symptoms are often not be directly treated, which may feel disconcerting or that the therapy is therapy - it is important to observe the overall affect of the treatment rather than to be focused upon how particular symptoms are as they may not improve immediately
A good proportion of the therapy time is dedicated to observing and monitoring patient responses rather than direct treatment - this is no different to looking at a map to plan a journey or checking road signs to make sure one is on the right route.
